Buyer Information

With the rising cost of new equipment, the auction method of buying is by far the most desirable. You are able to bid your price with the confidence that other like-minded buyers are bidding along with you. The savings can be absolutely enormous. Many small restaurants, catering, and non-profit groups, would not be able to exist if it were not for buying through the auction method. You also have the assurance that you cannot pay "too much" for your auction purchase, as another interested bidder was just slightly below your highest bid.

When buying at a Basinger auction, you can rest assured that you are dealing with people of integrity. We've been in business since 1987 and have developed a reputation for honesty and professionalism. Payment at our auctions is generally by cash or company check. To register for the auction, bring a photo i.d, and if paying by check, a bank letter of credit. This is on your banks letterhead and should read like this: BANK LETTER OF CREDIT.

All items are purchased "as-is" with no warranties or guarantees of any kind. This applies to both on-site and absentee bids. Once items are declared sold by the auctioneer they become the property and FULL RESPONSIBILITY of the high bidder. At this point the seller nor the auctioneer are responsible for items if they are stolen or misplaced. Stolen or missing items must still be paid for in full as stated in the signed buyers contract at registration.

A 10% buyers premium is charged to the buyer on each purchase to offset the cost of the auction to the seller. We have greatly reduced our commission to the seller, which is precisely the reason the items that you are bidding on are even available for auction. As the buyer, you are still in complete control as to the amount that you are willing to spend for each item.

It is important to note the removal dates and times of the auction that you attend. Items must be picked up during the dates and hours posted. Items that are not picked up during these times will be subject to forfeit. Keep in mind there are no refunds, even if items could not be picked up. We usually try to make special arrangements with you to pick the items up before deeming the item forfeited. Make sure that whoever picks the items up for you has the original copy of the paid receipt! The buyer is also responsible for any damages caused by removal of items.

Checks returned "insufficient funds" are taken very seriously. In 17 years we have seen very few bad checks. We have collected on every bad check written. We have guaranteed the seller clear funds and have a no tolerance policy for bad checks. A minimum of $50. penalty is charged from our company (even if it was a $1 purchase!). If the check has not been made good on the following business day (including the penalty fee), the check is turned over to the court system in the area that the auction was held for collection. Again, we welcome your checks, and don't expect this to be an issue!

We look forward to seeing you at the next auction!
